Border Collie Kennel Club English / FCI

Standard FCI Nomenclature N ° 297, Kennel Club English

https://bccgb.org/standard.html

Officially recognized by the FCI, the English Kennel Club was created in 1972.

He established, owns and manages the Standard of Race Border Collie No. 297, English Shepherd Dog breed.

This is the Club Officially recognized by the FCI

The breed standard established by the English Border Collie Kennel Club is therefore a reference

Long before the creation of the BCKC in 1972, the ISDS and the future Border Collie Kennel Club were already well animated.

Exchanges of letters salty, many meetings of the two entities and court procedures were necessary for the day to see the day of the current Border Collie Kennel Club.

Compromises were found so that each of the two bodies could work hand in hand, in the overall interest of the Border Collie.

Thus, among other things, the Border Collie Kennel Club recognizes the "Stud Book" of the ISDS and allows those there to be transformed into official pedigree FCI / KC.

It should be noted that the continuity of ISDS registrations is entirely possible in addition to that of the English Kennel Club.

Thus, dogs, puppies ..., are therefore holders of 2 types of different pedigrees, one is recognized by the FCI, the other not.

At the Border Collie Kennel Club, there is a section "Show Border Collie Herding Test", it is not a requirement of the standard Border Collie. It can be done without obligation. This test is only mandatory for the validation of the titles of Beauty Champions (conformity to the standard) and international but in any case open for any right to reproduce.

ISDS English / NON FCI

(International Sheep Dog Society)

No Standard Proper, according to ISDS

"Today we are talking about working sheepdogs or British sheepdogs and an ISDS Border Collie does not have a breed standard. "

" The UK is the" kennel of the world "for the working dog. "

https://www.isds.org.uk/

In 1873, the first shepherd dog trials were conducted in Bala, North Wales, but it was not until 33 years later (1906) that the International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS) was created. at a meeting of English and Scottish sheep. The first international trials were held in Gullane, Scotland and, except during the war years, continued to be an annual event.

Today, more than 100 years later, ISDS has more than 6,000 members from around the world.

The AFBC Club

( French Club Border Collie )

Standard F.C.I. N ° 297 / 24.08.1988 / F

(Translation of the English standard: Pr. R. Triquet.)

https://www.lafbc.net/bordercollie/standard_bc.php

For AFBC, the main characteristic of a Border Collie is its particular attitude in the presence of the flock. Its standard is therefore interpreted fairly loosely, especially in size and colors.

Created in 1979, the French Association of Border Collie is born. It aims to improve, help, promote and use in France, the dog Border Collie breed, encourage breeding, training herd and its proper use .

AFBC is the only French Border Collie Association

In view of the elements that are brought by this PDF, you can see, by its obviousness, that the English standard issued and edited by the Kennel Club English, which I recall is the only club recognized by the FCI and unique depository of the Border Collie Standard is not enforced or respected.

It is clearly legible that the AFBC has based its selection references to the Border Collie breed only on the recommendations or provisions of selections applied by the ISDS (which I recall is not recognized by the FCI).

It adds to this one, a confirmation of the Border Collies only by the test on herd, which a priori is not normal or justified by the reading of the original standard and even non obligatory provisions are invoked for the Shows Herding Test.

In view of the publications of one (ISDS) and the other (AFBC) of the aforementioned entities, on their respective website, it is clear that the purpose of each is completely identical.

One (ISDS) relies on the selection of Border Collies only by the work and the predisposition of it to the work, deliberately forgetting (as he openly specifies on their site) to meet compliance with the standard.

The only compliance with the Border Collie standard valid for them (AFBC / ISDS), would be the ability to work and the natural atavism of the subjects of their selections.

This is normal, since ISDS and AFBC speak only of Border Collies.

Out, as you will see for yourself by connecting to the official Border Collie Kennel Club website, the arrangements made for the breed, selection recommendations, are very different from those listed above.

It's quite normal, since the English Kennel Club only talks about Border Collie de Beauté.

The same goes for colored dogs, their unions, their selections, their confirmations (specific to France) and their recognitions in general.

Then come the following legitimate questions:

Is the pure application of the official English Standard issued and regulated by the English Kennel Club respected by the FCI, the SCC and the AFBC ? ....

- Are we depositors of the Official English Standard? , do we make this an application in and with the appropriate measures ? ... ..

Has the Official English Standard been correctly translated, transposed or transcribed in comparison with that applied by the FCI, the SCC and the Race Club in France ? ....

Has the Fedaration and the Race Club made certain provisions specific to their respective wishes and in contradiction with the recommendations of the Kennel Club ? ...

The current management conducted by the Federation, the FCI, and the French Breed Club would it be a management for the benefit of the working dog ? or not ? and would it be it or not, a management at the expense of the Beauty Selection Border Collie ? ....

What answers would be provided by the Border Collie Kennel Club English if we asked for explanations or comments to this PDF ? ...

Do you think the current AFBC club is a worthy representative for our Border Collie breed in France? , does it represent the Border Collie in its entirety, in all its diversity ? ....

Do you think that the current club AFBC is the reference club for the Race Border Collie in France, both for the promotion, diversity, development, protection and representativeness in France ? ....

Do you think that our Federation (CSC), as seen in the AFBC and ISDS publications above, is a good representative of the Border Collie breed, both for its advocacy, promotion and protection or development ? ... ..

In your opinion, are there any contradictions between the agreement of our National Breed Club and the FSDS (French entity of the ISDS), knowing that agreements of conventions have been concluded in the management, in particular, documents and pedigrees ISDS ? ... ..

(while an entity not recognized by the FCI)

According to you, do you think that the AFBC and the CCS do what is necessary for the good cohesion of the Border Collie actors in France ? ....

In your opinion, what priorities should they prioritize ? ... ..

According to you, is the confirmation to the flock (work trial) legitimate ? Should it last ? , to be strengthened ? , lightened ? , Deleted ? ... ..

Is she legitimate ? ...

According to you, do you think it is necessary to create two separate clubs for the good management of the Border Collie in France ? ... ..

or in which case, do you think it is necessary to divide the club into two, under the same entity and two colleges of different administrations ? ....

The list of questions that we could ask is so long, what risk of being without limit. Nevertheless, these are legitimate to have answers from our institutions SCC, AFBC, FCI.

It is therefore on this point that this document will be translated and transmitted to the committee of the English Kennel Club so that it can be studied and possibly that it can give us answers.

We hope, if she wishes, that she asks for explanations from the CFI and its governing bodies.

On this occasion, we are sure to ask the official STANDARD Border Collie document, which the BCKC submitted to the CFI in 1966.
